DAY XXVI // #WHATHEALSYOU

Slowly in time and by little by little, I am re-discovering life and its' beauty amidst my pain and heartache. Carly asks us to find #whathealsyou and what heals me in today's prompt because it is those things and in those passions that we find our healing.

  • prayer time
  • reading books on faith and personal testimonies of others and their losses + triumphs
  • spending time in my home and just being present
  • embracing a life of "less is more" - de-cluttering, donating and organizing much needed places in around the house that have been needing some good TLC
  • loving on my five pups
  • discovering and learning more about my love for florals
  • interning for Rekindle Creative and embracing my creative side
  • doing things on my own and being on my own - whether it be driving, shopping alone, taking a walk, eating a meal
  • blogging and writing about my journey
  • sharing Haven's story with the world
  • openly sharing my #honestmamagrief on my Instagram account
  • dating my husband and being more intentional with him and for our marriage
  • finding a home church
  • attending church weekly
  • visiting Haven's grave site everyday
  • being intentional on Thursdays when I select and arrange florals for her grave space
  • sitting in her room's rocking chair and just allowing myself to feel emotions - sometimes in tears and others in peace
  • surrounding myself with people that intentionally for me, for Paul and for Haven
  • distancing myself from some unhealthy relationships
  • embracing love, support and prayer from those that were present for me during my hospital stay
  • allowing myself "time-outs" and "heart resets" away from Instagram
  • trying to be gentle on myself
  • diy-ing new crafts and planning new projects
  • opening the windows and letting the light in all of the rooms
  • taking care of my skin, health, and sleep
  • finally learning about a bit of makeup (something I still know nothing of, ha)
  • planning trips, birthdays and events
  • meditating
  • deep breathing
  • and I know I've already mentioned this, but I've grown so much with this -- prayer

-- What heals you? What practices or passions have you found yourself in that have helped you and your loved ones with healing? Are these practices new, old? I'd love to hear them and know your story.
